JPG, Classic Chrome,

Fuji X-E2

Fuji XF35 at f/4

JPG/Classic Chrome

I usually shoot RAW, but, I used JPG and Classic Chrome for a change..

I also applied a little bit of the Clarify Plugin by Topaz to add a little pop to the CC colors

Robert, sorry to be responding so late. The tonality in these images is lovely. Are these straight out of the camera jpegs, or are they post-processed? If PP, what did you use? Thanks.

Jamie, sorry I missed your query when it was timely! I'll send a pm, but for the benefit of the thread: these are wide open, ISO 200, using the rear AF button so the shutter is only about the shutter- moment; I use the BW/green filter but shoot raw+; my development default in LR 4x is the green filter, but sometimes I choose orange (different highlights/contrasts) , sometimes I manage the desaturated hues/luminances manually; then I adjust highlight/shadow curves and often, as in this set, use the brush to make local adjustments, mostly again to relative highlight/shadow.

However, the OOC jpgs don't look exceptionally different. So it seems to me the key here is the shooting setup, and of course the lens!--they have to look good in the moment, and in review, or they won't make it as far as the computer.

Had the X-Pro 1 when it was first released and hated it, but loved the 35 f1.4 Recently got the Adorama deal and am learning to enjoy the camera more than before, but my feelings toward the 35 have not changed. Here are three recent portraits

It's hard to believe there are still complaints about Fuji AF capability.
I still use the older Xpro1 and XE1 bodies and an X100c.
Did a wedding this weekend. The cameras perform perfectly.
2 Cameras around ones neck and a third in pocket.
Focus duties handled by the AF. As much as I love rangefinders these Fujis do a better job than I ever could.
Wish that fuji could build a film body for these lenses

XF35... not a final edit but wanted to post. Yes, My dog Hugo found himself welcomed from the seat of my truck to the bride and grooms table.

The XF 35 is just about as good as a lens ever needs to be. Nice git fiddlers Robert.

Gracias, Xabi. I ought to make more casual portraits of friends--that's what I tell myself whenever I do it, which is still almost never.

Welcome back, filmfan. Maybe you'll come to think of the Fuji as a Hexar AF on vitamin supplements. (Though an XE with the 18/2 would be closer in size and response than the XP/35...). You can even set the speed limit to 1/250, set iso to TX320, and set aperture to A for Hexar emulation.

Thanks.

The 18mm lens is next on my list. I miss the Hexar -- I think I took my best photos with that camera.

Late Sun Sunken Fence

Love the photos on this page. I usually process Raw but learning my X Pro 2, I am shooting Astia Jpegs here and tweaking just a bit.

They look best viewed/clicked to full size
