Your Nikon Rangefinder blog is excellent. Even though I can't understand most of the text, I understand the photos, travel, and equipment.

I think the first image has kind of a nice glow to it (but that may be due to an inflated opinion of my own work) that goes with the vintage of the lens, and sort of a dramatic look to the second shot with the lens handling the contrast nicely. I also like the little bit of vignetting in both, but maybe that's just my own taste. Vintage lens, later serial number 358398, don't recall which body I was using or the exposure details, shot on TMax100. There's more if anyone is interested.

Vic, this is with the 35mm f1.8 SP 2005 version. How sharp do you need your 35 to be?
My caption to this shot on Flickr was "I think there is only one S in Bush"
I think it was TriX in PCK.

Had a little chance to play with the LTM version of this lens. I assume optics wise, both are the same.

It resembles a little like the ultron 35mm f1.7

This was taken about a month ago. I'm always hesitant to photograph street performers if I don't have any money to give them afterwards, feels kinda like stealing. Since I was characteristically broke that day, like every day, I kept walking past the flutist as he played. When I was about 6 ft down the street he lowered his instrument to shout at me "Hey, take my picture!" then, actually added "I don't want no money" . He then posed, pretended to play, and thanked me. Hopefully, next time I'm downtown he'll be around and I'll give him an inkjet print of the picture. Thanks for the compliment, first time anyone's ever said anything nice about one of my pictures on this forum !

Helen,

I agree. BTW I have one of the rare 35/1.8's that were made in LTM.
