Uncorrected barrel distortion in the first one above. I don't seek patterns that will invite it, but there it is and luckily it's a little fix in LightRoom.

major drawback no VF but hey you can always buy one

How is the menu and dials... ??

I wouldn't buy into the RX1/R if you're concerned about menus, dials or firmware, Helen. The body feels well made, but the interface is decidedly "meh". But that Sonnar is lush wide open <3 Best digital camera I have owned, bar none. So good, in fact, I bought it twice.

Three very different images with the same compact tool.

I do prize the EVF, but a devoted streetshooter could do with a good optical viewfinder.
Menus stay out of the way if you keep your settings simple, e.g. Manual, BW, fixed iso, lens wide open, speed-wheel beneath your thumb. (This is what what I do with any/every digital camera since my first GRD.)

Your photos are amazing Robert, every now and then I'm tempted to sell my RX1 because it doesn't get much use, but everything considered, I should sell all my other cameras and *keep* the RX1 only. I reckon there's nothing I couldn't do with the RX1 only.

Dear Stefano, I have been meaning to thank you for your earlier compliment for some time, and maybe you'll see this sooner rather than later.

I'm glad to also observe that your RX color work is bewitching, especially these magic hour long exposures. The Dutch cityscapes are like seeing Vermeer with a modern camera oscura, or as Barthes has it, a camera lucida.

Thanks Robert, still trying to mold the RX1 colours to my liking.

The RX1 is also pretty good at portraits, here's one of my 89 year old grandma:

The colors are lovely in this one. It looks to me like you've got the colors dialed in pretty well!

Great seeing these posts- nice images here! I was looking at some pics and missing my old camera.

So here is one from Prague at the "Lennon Wall" I was out for an early morning walk -this was about 6:30 AM that i happened on these ladies putting this scene together. I couldn't resist helping them so they wouldn't need to use self-timer on their tripod mounted Canon.
