What should I buy?

I know I should be saving up money.. But I just want to buy ONE more thing for my Leica iii or Rolleiflex. Lenses, accessories etc.

Buy a good cook book and take up recipe creation for a hobby instead.

leica iii: sbooi finder, hood for the summicron, filca/ixmoo cassettes, ablon, kanto repaint (and the lenses, too).

rolleiflex: rolleifix, hood or cap, the weird strap for the mx.

How about a bag? You need a bag to carry your kit in. One for Leica and one for Rolleiflex.

A rail/bus ticket to somewhere photographically interesting + a night in a cheap hotel. You will leave with photographs that are much more valuable than any accessory you could have bought for the cameras.

Justin,

Buy The Road to Seeing by Dan Winters.

Don't 'devour it in five hours' like Eric Kim did* but study it. Read it until your attention wavers, then put it aside and think about how the things you read about are with you. You'll come to conclusions, I'm sure. I know I did.

Enjoy the book!

*Kim style is jumping around like a flea: big jumps and lotsa energy, but never a tangible result. Although he slows down in the above linked review!

Or how about some photo paper + ink/chemicals? Print lots of different photos on the first third of the paper. Choose your favourite and use the second third to refine the image and print it in different ways. Choose your favourite from this batch and print it on the last third as gifts for friends and family.

If you're anything like me, you really don't need another bit of kit. What you need is to really 'see' the photos you take and become a better printer.

Buy film and processing for that camera. Photographers make photos. Pimping cameras is entertaining, but a different pursuit than photography.

Since you have a good small format camera and a good medium format camera, you really need a good large format camera to complete your collection.

Register for the New York Time's Around the World Journey. Its a worldwide trip over a month by private jet. Many interesting places with leading journalists and experts on the areas visited.
There would be abundant photography opportunities, great conversation and great food.
Cost is only about 130,000 USD! Bring lots of film!

If I win a lottery, I'd go.
