That 17-55 weighs nothing compared to the 80-200/2.8 I cut my kit down to the 17-55/2.8 and the 80-200/2.8. That plus the D7000 is as versatile as I'll ever need.

D300 plus 17-55/2.8 is a pretty heavy loadout. With grip attached, the rig fits snugly in a LowePro MicroTrekker 200 backpack, and can be carried around in some comfort. I now generally prefer the D5100 w/kit zoom for excellent image quality, light weight, and that fits easily in a Domke F-6.

I use a Tamrac Rally 4, over the shoulder bag, which holds my Canon 7D plus Sigma 30mm F 1.4 and Tamron 60mm F-2 nicely.
