I did it. After many agonizing months of trying to save I went out and bought a Sony a7 to use with my Minolta AF lenses.

Now, I have to sell the Sony A700 to help pay for the camera and LA-EA4 adapter!

I hope it provides as many wonderful images as my Ricoh GXR did!

The flash system from Sony (née Minolta) is expensive and underdeveloped. Any third-party unit with auto-thyrister mode will be perfectly acceptable. I already own a mix of brands (Canon, Nikon, Contax) that I use in manual mode, either off-camera with a cable or mounted directly in the hot shoe.

for a manual flash the various Yongnuo models offer an excellent price / performance ratio. They can ignore pre flashes to synchronize with the main flash and some models have radio receiver built in. Good functionality, decently well built, see e.g. http://bodhivisuals.dk/yongnuo-560-i...ny-a7-cameras/

Got to take some pictures for an advertisement my wife is working on--this is one of the better ones, I think, and I like it in black and white.

Got a new dining table!
A7 + Zuiko 50/1.8 silver & Zuiko 24/2

The Zuikos works really well with this sensor, even the wide angles!
