Visoflex question

I own a visoflex III which I tried with a summicron 50mm, I shoot at f/2.

I took a few pictures which all happen to be out of focus. The summicron is directly mounted on the visoflex III and things appear in focus in the (visoflex) view finder.

What am I doing wrong?

Whoops, misread..... starting over. At f/2 in the very close range dictated by the combo you're using, depth of field is nil. There's a spot in focus, but it's so little that you can't find it.

An example of one of your failures would be helpful here!

This is how I do use it, however, even if the image appears sharp in the viewfinder, it's unfocused on film.

your sumi can only be focused extremely close up

the lens is too far away from the film plane for infinity
or even 5 feet away for that matter
its like putting your lens on a bellows

I am shooting at roughly 3-4 inches from my "subject", still, unfocused, even it if appears focused in the viewfinder.

Try it with a tripod to minimize any effect of movement. If still not working, try a different lens. If neither of those fix the issue, send it off to DAG for adjustment. I have the Viso III which I use on the M9, and it works beautifully.

Which lens are you using? I am already using a tripod and I doubt this is the product of the mirror's vibrations.

My main lens is the CRT-nikkor (55mm f1.2) with a LTM-M adapter, but have also used the 90mm Summicron on the short mount (ZOOEP) and the Micro-Nikkor RF w/ LTM-M adapter. All focus correctly.

What I do not understand is that there's not too many ways to mount a visoflex, or a M-mount lens, if it appears in focus in the viewfinder, and the subject is just a few inches from my lens, why would it be out of focus. I'm puzzled. The lens itself works great (without the visoflex).

I just tried the Viso III with a Collapsible SUmmicron and a DR Summicron, and both are fine.

This is a stretch -- did you try it on a different M body?
