The strap I used before the lance had metal connectors as well. I will have a closer look at mine tonight.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of yours would you?

Yes, the metal in the lugs was already noticeably worn away by the O-rings.

I don't have an X100, but have seen & read about premature wear in their lugs. Disappointing, to say the least, to find that they didn't fix this problem in the X-Pro1. My X-Pro1 isn't a shelf queen, but it's not like I've used it in rough conditions or anything.

Sorry, don't have a photo of mine. FWIW, it's mainly in 1 lug right now, but I didn't want to take a chance at exacerbating the problem (& didn't want to bother w/a bulky 1/2-case w/lugs) & wanted to see what the fuss was w/these round fabric straps the crazy kids on the RFF () keep talking about. Like I wrote, I've only seen comparable wear on my vintage cameras (nothing more modern than the early 1960s).
