Using the ZM 25 on the M8

I've just purchased an M8 and I'm looking for a 35mm FOV equivalent lens. I've heard a lot of good things about the ZM 25 with regards to IQ but I've also heard that this brings up the wrong frame lines. I have some questions:

1. Is this still the case? (wrong frame lines)
2. What is the work around for the wrong frame lines and does coding help?
3. For frame line + 35mm FOV accuracy, will it be better to use a 28? (e.g VC 28/2 or ZM 28/2.8)
4. I have a VC 25/4 LTM with a 35mm LTM to M adapter, if I mount this on my M8 will it bring up the right frame lines?

25mm = 33.25mm equiv
28mm = 37.24mm equiv

If you wear glasses, the 28mm (37.24mm) framelines are easier to see by far. Never heard that the Zeiss 25mm brings up the wrong framelines, but I could be wrong.

If you use the 35mm adapter on the M8, it'll bring up 50mm equiv framelines... which won't be too useful.

Older versions of the ZM 25 brought up the 28mm frame lines, but I believe that newer ones bring up the 24mm frame lines on the M8. I think you can order a replacement flange from Zeiss if you're buying used, or have someone fix it for you. Or you can just use the whole RF window and get pretty close.

Coding has nothing to do with frame lines. If you do not code you can use free software called cornerfix to remove the cyan corners.

And the 35mm ltm adapter should bring up the 35 and 24 frame lines simultaneously, so you should be all set there.

I had to look it up–I can never remember the frame line pairs.

It's so funny, really, because I never think about the second frame line when I shoot... I had to look through just to make sure the 90 showed up with the 28, as I only see the 28 when I'm shooting with the 28. Amazing how the brain adapts...
