Hi Kyle,

Is there a gallery to upload photos to?

How many photos can we each submit?

How is the winner decided?

Большое спасибо

yo Great Leader

Only one entry per person?

Are you trying to hold back the creativity of the workers?

please reconsider .... please

It's three themes so it's three photos. You don't want it to turn into a dumping ground!

It's up to you! I use a Leningrad 6 lightmeter unless I'm shooting with the Fed 5. It has it's own built in meter. Myself, I will probably use the Fed 2. I haven't used it in quite a while. Looking foward to seeing everyones work.

Please clarify: Can we submit pictures we already have, or should we only submit photos taken during May 2010?
Thanks

My understanding is photos taken during May 2010. But I'm only a participant & not a rule maker.

I am in, with one of my FSU beauties. Military can be an interesting theme to me.

Sounds like a fun contest,

Time to give my Kiev 2a + Jupiter 8 another whirl. I'll be in the Czech republic in the first week of May, as part of a re-enactment convoy of WW2 military vehicles (for the 65th anniversary of the liberation). Should be a good opportunity to shoot a military themed picture

hey guys i have been on vacation from everything, at the beach being a beach bum. Went trough several rolls of film, any way lots of non contest related shooting going on. Unless we can fit in Baltic Sea as a theme.

Got my Kiev II and Jupiter III out of the cupboard last night ... I'd forgotten what a nice camera that Kiev is and the Jupiter three has always amazed me!

I have no problem with 'industrial' and 'agriculture' ... military could be a little tricky though!

Roll on the first of may!

Too many double negatives for me here, do you mean that only kit manufactured, or at least in production, BEFORE 1991 is to be used?

I like the idea but my reading of the rules is that posting of photos begins May 1 and runs through May 31, while the photos may be taken at any time in the year 2010 (rule no. 6).

In other words, shoot between Jan. 1 and May 31, post between May 1 and May 31.

Voting begins on [not stated but seems logical] June 1 and ends on June 14.

That about right?

Should I spare 2 weeks for people to get their film developed and scanned so they can post their stuff into the gallery. I know how some people can with film, saving the final frames till the last day.

A friend emailed this poem to me today and I immediately thought of this thread:

"Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
In Soviet Russia,
Poem writes you"

Nah, I like the challenge. My only full FSU kit is a battered Zorki 4 with a lowly rigid I-50. I don't even have a take-up spool yet, and the lens mount needs to be shimmed. Then I'll find out if the dang thing is even light tight.

If we make it FSU lenses, I'll just pop the Helios 103 on the Contax and head out. Where's the fun in that?

My FED-2 (b) came today from fedka.com. Here she is, her pert self, with an Industar-50 aboard:

Really a nice looking, nice-handling camera. Love the diopter!

Glorious Comrades of Socialist Photography! Let us unite under the banner of Soviet cameras and 35mm & 120 film! Down with the Imperialist Digital Aggressors and their Pixel-Peeping Lackeys! May our Kievs / Zorkis / Smenas / FEDs demonstrate the superiority of Soviet technology to all peace-loving (and photography-loving) peoples of the world!

Photographers of the World, Unite! You have nothing to lose but your megapixels!
