You are welcome and thanks for the compliments. The Noctilux really sings in conditions like this and the M9 ain't too shabby either!

No one in his or her right state of mind can argue, that the M9 is outdated and "can't take great images". It's all in the view of the one using it.

Handheld, F8 ISO 160, 1/25 M9-P 50mm Summilux Version 2. I can't recall if I used SFE2 or lightroom for the B&W conversion.

Welcome to RFF! your post was a thumbnail. Are you using Flickr or something like it? I'll help you if I can.

Hello Jim, thanks for your reply and offer of help, seems that I need it. Within the last few hours I have created an account with Flickr, but have no idea of how to post photos!
Like most things in life I am sure it is simple enough once you know.
Cheers
Alan.

No problem, it took another RFF'r to teach me too.

Select the photo in Flickr
Upper left is a "share" tab
Go to "Grab the HTML/BBCode
You can select the size (1000 pixels for the long side is the limit)
Copy this code
Now go to RFF, select thread and hit post a reply
You will see a "chain link" click on it
It will then say "please enter the URL of your link"
Paste the HTML/BBCode into this box and hit OK.

There you go!
Again welcome to RFF, I'm looking forward to seeing your photo's.
Jim

Hello Jim, Thanks for your help.
I can get the photo into the message box, but will not appear in the thread when posting. I have no idea why.
I have deleted the several attempts made.

Are you opening up the chain link first? It's the 11th button from the left right under the smiley icon.

Honestly, the B&W JPEGs out of the camera, along with Silver Efex Pro 2, give film a run for its money and this comes from a long-time B&W darkroom geek.

I think one key to getting good B&W results from the M9 is using lower contrast, high sharpness lenses, like the Heliar Classic, the CV Ultrons and early Leica glass like my 1st version Summilux and '51 35/3.5 Summaron.

I'm relieved that the consensus here is that the M9 isn't dead. It's taken 'til now for the used price to fall to a manageable level, for me at least.

Thanks Richard - I was lucky to find the light reflecting down into the street so nicely between the buildings. It's a fairly new section of town and still pretty smart looking. And I'm still loving what I can do with those M9 raw files.

I really like this. There is a stark, graphic quality about it.
I just got a copy of this lens and I'm looking forward to trying it on my M9.

Agreed. One can sense the tension in the atmosphere.

Some shots of mine, first time shooting after a hiatus of almost a year...M9 + 35mm 1.2, iso 1600.
