Japan Camera Hunter Film Cases

They are finally here! I have managed to make the 135 film cases again. If these are a success I will try to make the 120 cases too. It has been a long hard slog to get these made again, but I hope that everyone likes them

If you want to order them you can get them from my site.
You can read all the details here. I appreciate any feedback. Lets keep film going strong!
Thanks

It looks like a great product, I hope one day a 120 one is feasible (that's all I shoot) but I know there's not a huge market for it.

+1 for the 120 Case. I'd buy both.

Very nicely done. I have been looking for something of this quality for a while.
Hopefully they will be in stock for at least a few months as money is tight until I sell some gear!

I have been using the older Fuji version of these 35mm boxes for years now. They are really very handy for keeping film organised in a busy camera bag. I'm curious about a 120 version - how will that be orientated and how many rolls would it hold?

A rollfilm version would have to be almost twice as deep wouldn't it, while the diameter of a roll fits comfortably in the 35mm cassette grid? Maybe a ring-shaped mid-section "extension-tube" to heighten the 35mm case upwards could be a simple workaround and also greatly reduce tooling costs.

Looking at my old Fuji cases that extension-ring would need to give a net height increase of about 19mm. Hence a 19mm ring (plus lip, to go over what would normally be the seat for the lid on the base) containing a cross-grid for strength and rattle reduction, then the standard lid to fit on a lip of the extension rather than the lip of the base??

Nice, but I shoot very little 35mm. Most of my film work is 120.

Basically if I sell enough of these I will be able to put the 120 cases into production. So it is all up to the people, if I can get enough people buying these then other projects can happen.
Thanks

So far the cases have been a raging success. I am hoping that if I sell the first batch quickly I will be able to make a second batch of 18% gray I hope that makes the RFF crowd approval. Please keep on buying and tell others to, then I will be able to make more versions.
Thanks
JCH

I own two of these and love them to bits. I would also love love LOVE to see these in 120. I hope you get enough orders to afford making them. I'll be sure to keep recommending your 135 cases to anyone I know.

If end up designing other versions, I'd love to see a flatter profile case for 35mm with the film rolls lying on their sides, rather than standing (1 x 5 rather than 2 x 5). I have the older Fuji version, which I love to death, but its a little too fat slip in a side pocket on a camera bag, so it takes up room in the main compartment.

stay the parts together?

Nice look. Q: how well stay the two parts together when put in a bag were it might get mixed up and thrown around with other things?

Does the cover snap on the case?

Ron,

some weeks ago I could compare the original Fuji-Cases and the Japan Camera Hunter Film cases.
Even though both do not have a cover snap, the Fuji has a good fit but the new cases have an even tighter fit.
And after carring around one of the Fuji cases mostly vertical for over one year, it never happened to me that the spilled out their content..

Hope this helps,
Rob
