Online film purchase, UK?
Hi
Are there any recommendations for cheapest places to get XP2 and Tri-X online in the UK?
Thanks
Ernst

with the GBP appreciation vs EUR why would you limit yourself only to UK. check prices at macodirect or fotoimpex in Germany. in UK i was using silverprint.

I have started using these guys. I found that their ebay shop is even cheaper as there is no postage to pay.

A. G. Photographic are good, and Mathers in Blackpool are very good, and West End Camera Company (via Ebay). Seven Day Shop can sometimes be good, I recently got some Neopan 1600 at £3.20 a roll! But when you see really cheap film advertised always check the postage rates, there are a few dealers who sucker you in with a stupid price and then charge massive postage rates that bump the price back up to normal.

I use Ag Photographics in Birmingham (personal visit) when I need film quickly and 7dayshop if I am not in a hurry. Ag still has the cheapest TriX (not counting postage).

You have to shop around the various suppliers. I found that each of them tends to be the cheapest for something, but dearer for other things. If you're buying decent quantities, it can be cheaper to order a particular film from one supplier, and pay postage, and order a different film from another, and pay postage again.
AG and Mathers both had good prices for Tri-X a few months ago.

mathersoflancashire.co.uk generally decent prices. 7dayshop sometimes excellent pricing. mailshotsdirect sometimes have deals. The first two usually have the keenest prices, but mathers have the bigger range.

It seems they ship from within the mainland now after the tax loophole was closed. Was quite surprised when I ordered last Thursday and received the following day using free delivery.

I usually use Mathers, but I've used Silverprint, 7Dayshop, and Ag-Photographic, too. I usually use Ilford film and Mathers tend to be consistently cheaper for that, whereas other film (Kodak, or Agfa) is cheaper elsewhere.

you do have to factor shipping costs and as someone else said no one source is cheapest .
I've also used RK Photographic and been very satisfied with price and service. he has eBay and amazon shops as well as his own site.

I use silverprint because I can go there in person. I suppport them because they are relatively local and very knowlegable and keeping such a resource is very useful!

I used to use 7dayshop, but they seemed to give up on film a few years ago. Nowadays Ag Photographic is my choice - great service and prices, quick delivery. I also use Silverprint when I can get down there.
Boots do these 3 for 2 offers, but the actual price per film works out more expensive. It's not a great offer.
