Talking YATTA ! Did it !!!

Guys
let me share with you a really GREAT shot happened to me right now..
It was MONTHS I didn't looked at a famous local website trading film gear, Zeiss, Leica, Nikon etc. By chance I gave a look and guess what ? From one minute to the other appeared a Mint (or EX+) Zeiss Ikon + Biogon 35/2 for less than the price of the Ikon new. I couldn't believe it. I called them immediately and now I'm waiting for their mail to end the transaction !!!
As some of you might have read just a few days ago, I was wondering to take the plunge yet prices of a totally new system scared me, so as Sebastel knows, I had decided to look for the Distagon first... Yet, with such a deal I really couldn't pass over !!!
They always offer one full year warranty and they are indeed one of the most trusted shops in Italy, so I'm very very happy ! From them I got my F6 and from them I'm going to get my first Zeiss camera.

sorry... I really had to share such happiness !!!

Ditching the F6 for an Ikon has to be a step in the right direction!

When the camera arrives, take a look at the moon, to see if the rf image coincides. If all is ok, load some nice film, and set the lens to f 4.0. When you will see the results you will wet your pants

Thanks MFogiel, hopefully at NOC they did their homework !!!
I had just paid it so now just have to wait !!!
I had seen and tried the ZI + 35/2 in Genoa about 1 yr ago and it looked SO tiny compared to everything I had so far (probably the closest home competitor was the FM3A + CV 40/2, for sure not the F6 nor the D700)
It's since ...2007? I was dreaming to have one !!!

Congratulations!
I once had the chance to shoot the Biogon 2/35 on an M9. The quality was WOW!

Congratulazioni, Dino. Of course we are looking forward to your shared shots off this camera. But I am also curious about an image of the camera itself with the lens you got. Let me have a look!

Have fun!

Jon...
probably only here broadcasted the silly YATTA-man?
Aside manga and movies (also the tv series Heroes), I had already knowledge of the Japanese form "YATTA"

Bravo. Good job finding a Zeiss Ikon and a Zeiss 35mm f/2. I have both of them, too. They're my favorite combination. Sometimes I only take the two of them on vacation with me. I've never wished I had brought more lenses or another camera.

Since we live close to each other, we should have a Zeiss Ikon outing one Sunday. Or maybe we can get a few others in Northern Italy from RFF to meet for coffee somewhere and then go shooting photos together. If you like that idea, send me a personal message and we'll start coordinating it.

-Russell

Hi Jon

some more.. I was typing with the smartphone under the rain so I didn't even think it was successfully posted here. I had to put on two LR44 silver batteries ( I have the other at home but wanted to know if it worked or not) and effectively it works

It's funny to read the user manual in Japanese and see the carton price tag still in the box as if it was just taken from the shop window
I can't compare it with a Leica now, yet the feel looks solid enough and even heavier than I thought at first (with the 35 on)

I'm wondering if Zeiss will recognize the s/n and eventually record the warranty or not.. Let's try !

Apparently the camera got 3 yrs of extended warranty, while for the lens the system is still thinking...
In the meantime I've already loaded the camera with Portra 160 and I'm already shooting a few pics
