First roll with CL done...

The Leica CL is a fine little machine, but does tend to have mechanical problems if handled too roughly. Don't baby it, but don't treat it like a photojournalist's field M4 either. The film advance and shutter cock WILL strip or bind up if you jerk them too often. Treated well, however, it will shoot and shoot and shoot. One of the best glove compartment cameras ever conceived.

Thank you all for the comments! The CL just fits me like a glove, I really do wish that Leica would make something just like it in a digital body. I keep hoping, doesn't hurt to hope.

fortran: yes, it's not the anvil that the M4-2 is. Luckily, I seem to be endowed with a great deal of natural mechanical sympatico ... while I respect my equipment, I use it a lot and don't seem to beat it up. Both my prior CLs came and went through my ownership without any issues (other than the fact that the second one seemed to be a total pain to load properly ... was when I got it, remained when I sold it).

Knowing a lot more now, and appreciating the forward movement of Time than I did back then, I suspect that I'll be hanging onto this very nice example of a CL for a long time to come. How long before all film becomes purely a boutique game or unavailable remains to be seen, but as long as I can get film I'm going to enjoy using all my film cameras once more.
