oops. this isn't the photo association thread and this is more a mural than it is graffiti, but, Bob, I couldn't resist.

John: I have probably spent a total of 45 days walking 6-8 hours a day through the bowels of Habana Centro looking for people with good backgrounds to photograph. I am still finding new opportunities. This was the first time I had found this one. And, once I found the background, I spent about 10 minutes waiting for the right person to walk by in the right position.

Here is the often photographed one since it is one street away from the popular tourist area in Havana. I have seen this background several times before so I don't like to use it.

Here is another I found the last trip but had to return the next morning with the light was from a more favorable direction. Then I had to wait again for the right people to pass by in the right position.

Oh Bob, you have done it now - I really want to go back to Havana. My wife is not keen on going to Cuba again but I am. I only got a couple of hours around the end of the Malecon and Habana Centro - I need something like a couple of weeks. Give me 6 or 8 hours wandering around looking for shots compared to 2 hours in the Tropicana any day!

High Five

A posed, but fun shot of the then girlfriend. It was taken with a Lumix GF1 camera and a Zeiss Biogon f/2 35mm ZM lens.
