Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M" Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!

Leica M8 car socket adaptor

Hi,

I have a new to me Leica M8.
The only thing the seller did not provide is the car socket adapter for the charger. That is something I could really use, since I drive a lot especially in the summertime.

So my question is does someone know where I could get one?
It seems that the cord is kind of special and at a local electronic supplies store they did not have one or didnīt even know where to get one. The socket seems to be special, Leica-special..
Of course if someone has one that one does not use and wants to get rid of it, I am all ears.
So I only need the cord which other end goes to your cigarette lighter in your car and the other end to the charger.
Oh, and one more thing, does the original M8 package even include this cord?

I'd try to contact the seller, maybe he has it lying around somewhere and just needs to spend a couple of minutes to find it, unless he definitely has lost it (the cable...).

Other than having no opportunity to plug in the charger in a regular outlet, you will barely need a car charger. If you forgot to charge your back-up battery and need to leave tight away, the car charger could come in handy - other than that special situation, you will most likely never use it.
