Lens Cleaning in NYC

Does anyone have an experience with a lens/camera repair , service shop in NYC?

I called Phototech and they said they only do service to Canon/Nikon.

I basically need some grease applied because the focus area is a bit stiff.

Plus when this lens was shipped there was a lot of the grease on the back outer glass.

Nippon photo, they service all my cameras

They worked on my Plaubel Makina when noone else would. Totally courteous and straightforward.

Great Nippon it is.

I was surprised when I called a couple of places in NY for pretty much universal lens work , like cleaning the outer glass elements and applying grease, they wouldn't.

They CLA'ed a Fuji lens from a GL690 ans a Nikon 35/1.8 in LTM. Fast turnaround.

Sherry is upstate New York.

Sherry does great work, but her turnaround time is not fast like Nippon. In the past she has overhauled one M6 and upgraded my VF'ers on my two Leicas, but for fast turnaround I went to Nippon when I jammed my shutter.

So I dropped my lens of at nippon for them to give me an estimate.

The guy said: They MIGHT have to do a full repair!

I really hope this is not the case , because there are smudges on the outer glass only from the factory and slight cleaning scuffs on the front lens.

oh jeez. i am so broke. shouldn't have cheaped out on a 1.4 nokton and bought an old used summilux for 300 more :/

Just an update. I was very kind to the people working there. THEY CLEANED IT FOR FREE, great people
