I was knocked out by the crop to 67/70mm on the M8 from a Summitar , sparkling Fed 50 f3.5 , J3 and amazing Helios 53mm .
Otherwise , it has ever been 45mm / 50mm Rokkors and is now a crop to 52.5 from 35mm on Sony A35 . I would love the 50mm / 75mm crop too .

At the moment, 15mm on my Leica and pretty well evenly split 14mm and 90mm on my 5D.

35mm 98% of the time, whatever camera I use. I would like to go for 28mm and 50mm for some months to see if I might become better to frame and compose my pictures.

Got a D700, as does my wife. She's got a 50/85 prime combo and I've got a 35/50 combo.

Mostly 50mm, but 35mm has been luring me to the Wide Side.

35mm isn't wide, it's 50mm lite.

40 is neither here nor there. in other words, the 40mm is a goldilock lens, too perfect hence it isn't mentioned as there is no controversy.....

That is special... Since I have my CLE I use it as my main camera. I like the field of view...
Before I always used a 50.

28-300 Nikkor zoom. Wonderful lens. And yes, it's auto focus.

I'm with you on the appeal of the 40 - but not necessarily for field of view. That I do with my feet. Mostly.
I use zooms for foreground/background compression control and the zooms are often at 35-50 or at 250-300. However...
I have a 40 summicron C that has done time on CL, CLE, M6, and, in my search for a small alternative to the LF and SLRs that I use for work, NEX and m4/3 bodies.
With the 40 I like the lack of compression and the body-related FOV issue is dealt with by repositioning.

I like 40mm (not on the list). I like leaf shutters, better than FPs (ease of flash use), so I use '60s, '70s cameras. But they have focal lengths from 38 to 45mm. I do have LTM and SLR cameras so I reluctantly settle for 35mm.

50s Forever
I use 50mm at least 75% of the time, maybe more. If I do go buy a new (to me) camera, the first lens I pick up for it is a 50.

35mm definitely.
28mm comes second, and then 40-45mm.

I went out for a days shooting with my first roll in the seven rolls in seven days project a couple of days ago.
I took my OM-1 with 35, 50 and 85mm lenses and to my suprise realised when I got home that I had only used the 35mm and 85mm which is interesting considering I regard myself as predominantly a 50mm shooter!
The new late series Zuiko 35mm f2 I got from maitani is one hell of a lens! Flare resistant and very sharp right through the range!

I noticed that 28mm Biogon is allmost all the time on my Zeiss Ikon. 50mm is the the bag but 28 is the focal lenght with what I capture a moment.

I voted 35mm, and that had been true for about a year, but now I find myself drifting back to 50. Partly because the Carl Zeiss Sonar 50/1.5 (1950s model) is hands-down the best lens I own!
