Did you notice?
That a mint (accurate description!) Nikon F6 slipped through the classifieds for $760.00 USD?
It wasn't there long ... which is no surprise!

I got my beautiful, black Nikon F Photomic FTn for $35. Perfect working order, exc cosmetics. I'll take that over Any bloated F6. But call me biased... :-)

Well ... whatever your opinion of the F6 may be, when I see a camera that has been selling for between $1000.00 and $1300.00 go for $760.00 it gets my attention.
And I realise that some lucky buyer got what they wanted at an absolute bargain price and I feel pleased for them.
And I will call you biased!

I saw it too. Had great restraint on my part. But that's only because I'm looking for a 6x7.
Oh, and I agree, lucky buyer.

Occasionally ... it's one of those cameras that I drag out for a specific purpose. Usually when I'm feeling a little lazy about metering and just want to lean on the matrix system ... which seldom makes an error!
I also like that it shares lenses and basically it's performance via a different medium with my D700.

I've been so busy chasing down a Canon Pellix I completely missed that. Though I am enamored with my F2S, I wouldn't mind having an F6 to partner it with. Just picked up an FA with the 50/1.4, MD-15 drive, and MF-12 Databack for $100 the other day. Owner said the shutter was jammed, and we couldn't get the drive to fire up in his store, but I took a chance on it when he quoted the price. Heck, it was worth more than that in parts alone.
New batteries in the camera, and cleaning of the drive contacts with a fiberglass pen, and everything works just fine, except for the databack. The short cable that goes to the PC socket was ripped out of the back, leaving the plug behind. So the back is useless without the cable, but I don't need it anyway. I would like to get the regular back for it, but so far no luck.

If the classified notification system actually worked, more people would have had an opportunity to get that bargain.

I did, and it was difficult to pass up. Congrats to the buyer, props to the seller.
