Hoi An ancient town, Vietnam
Hoi An is a World UNESCO Heritage Site, which has a very unique character. I've been there several time and it always makes me surprised and excited.

Interesting series, I particularly like #10. However, your exposure seems to either be off or the scanning of the negatives is lacking. The few times I've shot BW400 I found high contrast situations (like the ones in your photographs) somewhat challenging.

I'm really understand your point, in fact I rated the film at ISO250 and quite like the results. I did adjust the level a bit to increase the contrast. BTW, I used an ORANGE filter and really like the effect.

Cars are prohibited to enter the Protective neighborhood, and yes of course there are cars around!
I should have said that I took those pictures in early morning 5h30AM to avoid the CROWD during the whole day there. I would say that Hoi An is an very attractive destination for tourists!
About people, you are right. Local people there are slim. I don't know exactly the reasons, but we all Vietnamese are slim in general. |

Nicely done! Thanks for posting...it is remarkable how clean the streets, etc. appear with no trash or other debris lying around. I noticed a lady sweeping in one of them. Can I presume that the city does appear to be quite tidy?

Yes, among several ancient towns in Vietnam, only Hoi An is an Unesco site heritage. It's not only Hoi An is a well preserved town but also people there still keep a somehow calm and slow lifestyle.
In addition, it's fair to emphasize the roll if the government there, very well done policy to keep the balance of tourism and the character of the city. |
