recommendation for shop rf allignment

i searched the forum and didn't find this information so will ask about it now.

i have a hexar rf that has had some moderate vertical misalignment since it was new. it is very usable but makes focusing a little slower compared to proper vertical alignment.

i have read quite a bid a bout d.i y. alignment and have decided against it.

i would like to know from anyone with personal experience if they could recommend a repair shop that would do a quick and good alignment job at a reasonable price.

cheers, charles

DAG camera repair but he's very backed up with work, so allow at least 10-12 weeks.

You beat me to it! I just shipped my HRF to Greg today. He was recommended to me by Tony Polson (in UK).

has anyone had rf adjustment performed

thanks for the leads.

i talked with greg for some time.

as my rf has only slight vertical misalignment and is usable, greg recommended that i not have it realigned.

he thought that there would be a good chance that the realigned rf would become misaligned before too long.

greg told me that there were known problems with certain parts of the hexar rf mechanisms and that while a free upgrade was available, it was not well communicated and very few were done. the problem parts make it hard to keep the rf properly aligned. some of the later manufactured hexar rfs came with the upgraded rf parts from the factory.

i would be interested to hear from anyone that has had the rf realignment performed to find out whether the rf stays properly aligned or not.

cheers,

charles
