My new toys- Fed 2b and Zorki 4K
Here's a pic of my new FSU rangefinders.
A Fed 2b with I26M and Zorki 4K with J8. My Kiev 4AM isnt pictured as the black paint on it is still drying.
Fed 2 came in almost mint condition. Now i finally know what u mean by dim viewfinder. I followed Laika's thread on how to clean the viewfinder and now its much improved. Also adjusted the rangefinder. Oh yah, it came with the leather case... ewww! it really smells bad.
As for the Zorki, I bought this for the J8 (to go with my Bessa on its way) but the Zorki seems so usable that I think i'm keeping it as a spare for my Bessa.
Besides, a new leather covering from Aki Asahi makes it look kindda cool.
Having all 3 FSU cameras, I now understand what all the discussion is about regarding the feel and operation of each camera, what you guys liked or disliked about them.
now, to find cheap film and shoot lots!

They look great!
I'm waiting for a red Kiev "suit" from Aki.

Hey, great looking FSU Iron! They both look in great shape. I ordered a black Leica emboss cover for my Zorki 4 from Aki. When it arrived he had thrown in with it a brown leather very similar to yours. After knocking around the idea for awhile, I decided to put on the brown leather for trial and then if I mucked it up, I'd still have the black cover and some installation experience for a redo.
To make a short story long, the install of the brown went easy and once I got it on, I fell in love with the feel of it. So the black cover went back on the shelf for one-of-these-days, but for now, I'm really satisfied with the brown.
Let me know how you like the 26M. I've got one in transit with a J12, but it may be awhile before it arrives and the suspense is killing me!! Enjoy the shooting!

Covers come from Aki-Asahi in Japan. I gotta tell you, his cover was cut very precise. The site has installation instructions. Though I've only purchased from him once, I won't hesitate to buy from him again.
