Hi thomas_m

really like the roller coaster in the desert series. The light is incredible set against the dark clouded sky. Makes it all work for an intense shot. Really really like it

Jan

btw i like the paw project hope you keep this up

Alas, the 5-Block PAW is complete. I've got some other projects brewing for 2005. I may do another PAW-like project next year but I needed a break. 1,200 frames in the same 5 square blocks left me a bit burnt. It was definitely worthwhile though, I got a lot better at the technical aspects of photography as well as learning to see new stuff in familiar places.

Thanks for the look and comments on the new set.

T.

Thomas,

Great to see your 5-block project. I was reading the streetphoto list when you picked up the M6 and started it, but drifted away and haven't seen any in the meantime. It looks great! I aquired an RF645 about the same time, but I've kind of always wished it shot squares... I'm looking forward to a better look later.

Thomas thanks for posting the link. I really like the desert stuff too, my fave is desert #4 - now if only that sky was darker...

Thanks guys.

Tom, the StreetPhoto list is the same as always but maybe a little more tame. No big fights for a while now, not even when someone dissed Eggleston. I liked the square format enough to buy a Rollei SL66 to supplement the Mamiya but I always wonder about the Mamiya 7 and the Fuji 6*9's. It's a sickness...

Peter - you're right, that sky does need to be darker. If/when I print it, I'll definitely be doing a little PS trickery!

Best,

Thomas

Yes - I do drop by streetphoto on the web every once in a while to see if it's moved. It was the topica mail system I fell out with in the end; just couldn't get it to send me mails after a holiday one time. I was hoping to come back when the list eventually moved, but I don't think it's happened yet...

And about squares, I do actually have a Mamiya 6, but it's from 1950ish - like item 7500621404 on oBoy, but with a Schneider Xenar instead of the Zuiko. As folders go it's a cracker.
