M8 - the freezing problem and SD-cards

Hi again!
I reported my problem with a vertical stripe trough some images already.
Now I have a second problem:
The camera freezes, like shutter doesn't work, screen menu doesn't work, no reaction at all even the on and off doesn't work. Only when I oben the bottom plate the camera reponse the warning that the plate is open. After I took out the battery and putt it in after a minute, the camera will work again. This hapens twice after shooting a lott off images.

I am using a Transcend 2GB card!
My question is: Who has a similar freezing problem and whitch SD-card where in use?

Thanks
Mario

I had a similar problem, but whilst I could get the camera to turn on (that is I could take shots) by leaving it switched on and taking the battery out and putting it back in, I could not access any menus (so unable to change any settings) or display images. I was using 1GB Sandisk SD cards. I exchanged it for another, which is another story. I think that the type of SD card is a red herring.

That's happened to me twice or thrice now. It's annoying but you just pop the battery out and back in and all is fine again. I don't think it has anything to do with the SD card but anyway I was using a Sandisk 2Gb Extreme III.

It is a bit like the infamous "error 99" of Canon heritage. Annoying but no big deal. Leica thinks (judging by the manual) that magnetic fields will cause this. It surprises me, that the "Error XX" which the M8 manual mentions as the ultimate error message has not been reported yet.

Wow so many M8 owners with the same issue! How many M8s are there representing this forum?
