Alternative to Oleg for Kiev repairs?

Hi all, I'm giving up on contacting Oleg; based on another thread I think I've done whats reasonable to give someone business. Recollecting my experience so far, I'd be a bit concerned now about dealing with Oleg anyway.

I recollect seeing a woman in Kiev who does FSU camera repairs, does anyone have experience and contact information for her. If not any suggestions are appreciated. I'm 30 days into a search for my repairs and I need to get some movement here.

All suggestions and help is appreciated.

I just got a camera back from Oleg a few weeks ago with no problem. He has been having email problems. I just got a response last night using ok@capital.mari-el.ru. He's repaired three cameras for me and sold me a lens and now I'm currently looking to buy a camera from him.

Depending on the trouble you might consider fixing it by yourself. What you need is a good set of clockmaker screwdriver. What's going wrong? We might be able to get you...

Gordon, thanks for the note. Ive sent emails to that address. No response. Here are the four email addresses I've sequentially sent email to each time I have tried again. I think I've tried hard enough... time for a new approach.

Anyone else have any ideas regarding Oleg.. he seems to have dropped off the face of the planet. I have tried about 4 different email addresses from his site as well as from RFF members, and I've had no reply or bounced emails.

I've got the camera - Kiev-4AM - this morning which he sent to me on 28/11. A marvellous piece.

Send him an email from another account. Maybe he has a spam buster of some kind installed and it discards your emails.

As Kim mentioned, Fedka offers repair services now. Prices seem fairly reasonable.

According to their website, they will only take MF repairs.

Jan, although it would mean sending the camera to the UK, Steve Ash is very good indeed, specialising in Contax/Kiev rf cameras. This is his website: http://www.sdash.plus.com/

I am always surprised that his work is not better known on this forum.

Cheers, Ian

thanks everyone.. you have provided a lot of clean options. I'm going to check them out and see how it goes. When I'm done, I'll repost to this thread for any one who is interested.
