I'm a film user, not a buff, and I am not familiar with this film, what do you like about it?

I just blew my savings on a 35 Lux Asph, thanks Nathan![/QUOTE]

I have not used the film at all. I have used the Ilford Pan-F Plus 50 which I love in both the 35mm and 120. It has a fine to no grain appearance which I really like. I saw the ADOC 25 while at the camera store and decided to pick it up for a test run. Something new and different and looking forward to seeing the results.

From the collection of a good friend's distant relative:

Rolleiflex T
Pentax MX, SMC 50/2
Minolta Dynax 7, 50/2.8 Macro, 28/2.8
Exakta RTL1000, Meyer Oriston 50/1.8, W/L finder and TTL prism
Exakta Varex IIa, Pancolar 50/2, Tessar 50/2.8
Exakta Kine, Schneider Xenar 50/2.8
Soligor 400mm f/6.3 in T2 mount

There was also some extension tubes for the Minolta and the Exaktas and a set of BPM bellows with Exakta mounts. Must see if I can find some other mounts for the bellows. :-)

All in fairly grubby condition (except the Minolta) and the Pentax was wound but wouldn't fire. Fixed the Pentax and working on cleaning up the rest. I don't think the TTL prism for the RTL1000 is going to work though.

I like both very much.
I'm not an expert in technical reviews, but I'll be glad to share my experience with those 2 lenses, using them on 2 CLEs.

new computer rig...

a Macbook Pro Retina with extra memory and storage is on its way from Shanghai, arriving (one hopes) on Friday. It replaces an eight-year old Macbook Pro whose display went dark last week and a god-forsaken PC donated by my employer (hardly fit for the trash, let alone work or photography).

A new Thunderbolt monitor and other minor goodies (mouse, Time Capsule, keyboard) sit in boxes awaiting the computer.

My old one was ancient enough that I believe it might be coal-fired or wood-burning.

A bottle of Faberge Brut cologne. I have always liked that smell since I was in my twenties.

My search for the perfect 35mm rangefinder lens continues …

I just bought a Konica UC-Hexanon 35 f2 LTM.

I am not yet sure, what I did there … It seems a massive 35mm comparison is overdue.

On a whim I bought an old FED S with it's original 50mm f/2 lens. I assumed that the camera and lens would be junk, and when I opened the box I wasn't disappointed, at least at first.

Upon taking the camera out of it's case, none of the controls were functional, everything was locked up tight. After a little disassembly and soaking in solvent, the dried grease dissolved and revealed a remarkably intact and relatively unused camera. I had to take apart the lens and remove the dried grease from the aperture blades so they would move. After putting the lens back together, I took some test shots with it attached to my X-Pro, and found the lens to work beautifully.

After removing the grease and relubing the shutter and winding mechanisms, the camera now works fine as well. I am working my way through the first roll of film, I hope it comes out well.
