I must admit I don't know what to expect as I've never been there. I've been wondering if i could find a Summar perhaps or some other interesting old glass.

And I've been thinking of beginning to develop BW myself and to begin using bulk films so equipment to do these things could be interesting too.

And film of course, if there's any on sale.

Oh, for patriotic reasons, plus because they're really cool, I've always wanted a Hassy too

Philipus, there will be plenty of old glass ! Also process chemicals and equipment and films. Enlargers is another story, because they tend to be a bit bulky and not so in demand they are not the salesmen favorite, better read the adds in the local internet markets.

Well, went and picked up Johan this morning, and off we went to Doesburg. Again a nice fair! Quite warmish though, 36C or thereabouts... But huge fun. More to follow...

Hey!

It was fun, we (Derk, his wife and me) met Hans and Philip but did not see any of the other visitors. It was nice meeting them!
It wasn't that busy since the afternoon temperature was indeed well past 30ēC with real harsh sunlight. All as predicted. Oomph!

I got lucky and found:
  • enough film clamps for hanging 16 rolls or 35mm film
  • a short connector wire to hook up a flash to my M2
  • a Rolleiflex 2.8F non-original neck strap from new leather for EUR 4
  • some aluminium film containers for 35mm and 120
  • a Stewartry filter adapter for 36mm Elmar etc lenses
  • a 43mm UV filter to transplant the glas into a Leitz filter for my Summilux 50/1.4
  • a Leitz leather case for my Summilux 50/1.4
  • Some Ilford and ORWO film expired late sixties, canned and sealed
The film clamps and the 43mm filter I looked for, the rest I ran into!

To top it all off, I was given 7 everready cases for:
  • Leica IIIf
  • Leica IIIc (big-nose case, tatty)
  • Leica R4
  • Leica M3
  • Zeiss Contarex Bulls Eye and Super, the luxury model
  • Argus C3 Brick
  • Contax (past-war case, tatty)
The seller was returning home and did not feel like packing all the rummaging boxes up too, so he let everybody take what they fancied and I took the 7 cases since the other four guys present were all skipping that box. I think I got the longer end of the stick

I plan to sell them all and earn back my spendings

Nice seeing and talking to you guys again !
Was there early to avoid the worst of the heatwave :-)

Got 3 cameras, all with some kind of defect so very cheap.

A Rollei 35 LED with a loose lens barrel (hope that one of my spare barrels will fit).

An Agfa Karat with a non working rangefinder and hampering shutter release.

And at the stand from our English friends a MPP Microcord with a lensboard
which doesn't seem to be parallel with the filmplane in the vertical sense.
Probably a Mk1 as it has a eye-level viewer using a collapsable mirror.

Can't say I have been looking for them but odds are highly stacked against it in general.

Saw a BP Leica II engraved 'Leihcamera fa. Koch, Lufthaven Frankfurt' but the seller asked EUR 500 for the camera with a matching Elmar 50/3.5 and the case. Fair price but not cheap.

I've been putting this event in my calendar for the past three years or so and it's the same story each year: It's a long drive, it's the end if the month, my money is finished, so I wouldn't be able to buy anything, much less pay for gas to just get there. If only they could do the event one week later, you know, after the entire country gets its salary!

Perhaps it's just me, but if you're organizing a trade fare it would be best to have people there with money they're not supposed to spend. OTOH, perhaps they're just protecting us from ourselves!

Well, I had a fine time in Doesburg. Some welcome finds as well:

- Leitz VIOOH, so now I'm ready for the 35 & 90ish mm lenses I want and also to use the shortened IUFOO shade I have.

- Kiev-4A. It's a '79 (cue QC horror stories) and looks well used. What say ye: order some ribbons from Yuri @ Fedka or form Oleg at OK before or after it conks out? :P

- Zorki-1b, but in 1c casing. Paid €18,- for the body and guess what: it works. Only thing wrong was a missing pressure plate spring, but I had a spare set. While inside, I popped in an imporved 1c - 1e 'band aid' pressure plate as well for easy loading & better film flatness. These old shutter crates out of chrome plated sheet steel are lovely to behold!

- The better half wandered off with a bright baby-blue FED-2. She picked it out for its colour (by her own admittance, mind ) and I'm lucky it works well. Just needs a light clean and an RF adjustment. I'm just happy I finally got her into FSU rangefinders!

- Original lens shades for the Oly OM 50mm and Nikkor H.C 50/2

- Couple of straps, take-up spools and odds & ends.

As has been mentioned, the lack of chemicals & film was a real shame, but oh well, I met some nice people, managed to overspend quite perfectly and I've found pretty much everything else on my wish list, so despite the heat it was a good day spent in good company!

Sounds nice. nickel or chrome knobs? Fair price for a II + Elmar, especially when in nice condition, but indeed not cheap. But I guess you won't find many 'good deals' at a fair like this. Too many knowledgeable sellers I presume.

Oops, I just realized that Leih cameras were loan models used as temporary replacement for a camera returned for repair (leihen=borrow). Apparently, much sought-after by collectors and valued accordingly. If this was such a model, Johan, you just missed the chance of a lifetime
