Contax G2 - black - What are they worth?

So I have a friend who wants to sell his Black Contax G2 camera and lenses 28/45/90 (also black). He was wondering what they were worth so I thought I'd throw the question out there.
What does the body go for? How about lenses individually? Is there a premium because they are black?
Thanks,

-S.

I don't know about current pricing especially premium for black models. You will have to do the normal EBay completed transactions and KEH listings for that.

I do know that back in the ContaxG heyday that the black bodies and lenses sold for large premiums, something in the range of 50%. It never made sense to me but I am just one of those who uses cameras to take photos. But people were willing to pay those premiums and thus determined market.

There is a pretty significant premium for black. The black 35 and to a lesser extent the 21 are fairly scare.

for users, silver is as good as the black, what no point for paying for the kit. I regret selling the silver body and 28/45/90 lenses in 06 for total $1000 even, but that time all the film cameras are so cheap, saw a demo black kit with metal case for $1200...

Certainly not on ebay of late- just a body and single lens seem to be going for over $1K, the individual lenses are in the $800+ range. I shoot with black G2 bodies, the 16 & 21 are to die for on film, and with a 28 and flash the G2 becomes the highest end P&S camera one could ever want- with top notch ergonomics to boot. Not quite pocketable, but not too big either...

The Leica Frankenfinder is a great match for the G ultra-wides BTW.

i guess they worth exactly the same of the clear finish g´s......but of course people use to pay more if they´re black....

So tell your friend to get a titanium finish g and lenses....he can get a g1 with green label and he can get the 35mm f2 lens which is great.....not to forget the other set of lenses....

Also....titanum finish is lasts loger!

I have been watching prices on these quite a bit as of late. Yes, the black versions of everything command 25% more than titanium versions at auction. The 28 and 45 (black) have been selling for $350-$600 each. The black 90mm is $200-300. Black G2 bodies have been selling for $500-$800. Yes, those are somewhat big swings in pricing, but unless the item is labeled "mint" they generally go for the lower values. It seems that any black version lens or body in "mint" condition with boxes and manuals is going for quite a bit more than a user (at least when compared with the titanium version "user vs. mint.")
Minty 21mm have been going for $900-$1100. The black 35/2 is all over the map on pricing. If it includes a TL200 I would agree with the above "$1950-2200" estimate for your friends kit unless it's torn up.
