That's indeed a great shot.
I'm also amazed by how well you handled the difficult exposure.

FT2 Repair

Great thread.

My FT2, my first SLR from way back when, has developed the "spastic meter" problem (Carbon resistor ring I believe). Has anyone had theirs fixed recently and had a CLA? If so, who did it for you?

Any ideas who can repair these? Sover Wong maybe?

Yes, the F4S is also incompatible with the original 1959-~1961 lenses. No meter-in-the-body model will work with these very early versions.

So much beautiful work here, but I think this is my favorite of all those you have posted on this thread. Atypical subject, for sure, but the composition and exposure look spot on, as well. You set a high threshold, for sure.

Outstanding photos Erik, so timeless, classic and well composed, every shot tells a good story and amuse me a lot - this is photography on a high level in my eyes. As many has mention before me, I would love to see this pictures in a book!

Purchased my Nikkormat FTn in 1971; a means of dipping a toe into SLR's after fiteen years of Nikon S-2 rangefinders.

Still use it today as a second SLR to my F2.

I bought a chrome one in 1972 and a black one in 1974. In 1994 I bought my first Nikon rangefinder: S2.

I did not like the models FT2 and FT3 because they had built-in hotshoes.

Erik, these are a really fond look back at the Europe I saw on my first trip over in the '70s. It was all gone by my second in the mid '90s. Just amazing work! I couldn't pick a favorite, so I bookmarked your flickr page!

Thank you, Vic. Yes, it is all gone. I am happy to have some pictures from those years. The force of photography is that it preserves time in a way.

My first 35mm camera was a Nikkormat FTn purchased at the PX in 1968. I still have and use it although not as much as I once did. I moved from a Yashica-mat LM (which I still have) to the Nikkormat so it was a joy to have such a handy camera. I now also have two EL's which are nice but not in the same way the FTn is.
