won't work with this microscope, will find another microscope to try it out.

Not familiar with the Nikon Microflex - looks lovely. Do you have the manuals? at least the diagrams would help. I was a microscopist for several years (food industry) and my experience was that there would be a separate vertical tube on (compound) scopes where the camera thingy would insert. Selector doodad would switch you from eyes-on to camera-using. I gather the big frosty-funnel thing is for projected viewing to focus.

You need a regular compound microscope, not a stereo microscope such as pictured. WES

From microscopyu.com, a slightly more modern Microflex. They will fit on scopes with dual eyepieces but but not stereo scopes.

The Nikon shutter is not used, so the camera becomes just a dark box.
