Missing exposures in my Fujica AX-3

I recently got a Fujica AX-3 that is missing exposures. I've shot a couple of test rolls through it and there are blank exposures on each roll and the second roll was more misses than exposures. I can go through each shutter speed setting and watch the shutter open and close with or without a lens attached several times. I can also do this in the automatic modes and on each ISO/ASA setting and the shutter fires as you'd expect.

Am I missing something else that could cause this? I'm not getting any double exposures, so I know that the film is advancing.

G'day,

You should probably make a quick note each time you take a picture. If pictures you know you took are absent from the film, then the shutter is failing to open.

If all the pictures you know you took are present, but there are blank frames, then there is some fault in the film advance interlock which allowing you to advance the film again without actually having pressed the shutter.

Regards, Chris
