However the very old advice to RTFM is always sound in principle. Or in your case, don't start asking questions before you've had time to RTFM otherwise people might think you are just being lazy, especially since you claim to be IT literate.
Honestly, what is RTFM? I am not IT literate whatsoever and never claimed to be! Can you not tell?
Thanks for the forum heads up. I will get into that ASAP (this is the type of acronym I know).

EDIT: upon googling "RTFM" I learned that it means to "read the fcuking manual". If you were to scroll up and read what I actually did say (and it was not that I am IT literate), it says that the manual is basically written in another language-- it's that bad. I think it was a translation from Japanese and nobody ever went back to correct it. Hence why I am here.

I am indeed over my head. I have been trying to set up my site via wordpress.com and I am having difficulty.

I don't want to learn this stuff, but I want a professional-looking website that is inexpensive... so I am going to have to learn it I guess

Unfortunately, not. I am using the .com site.

So, can anyone explain how to attach www.stwilsonphotography.com/paris-en-hiver to www.stwilsonphotography.com ?
EDIT: Figured it out...

I think you may have installed everything into the wrong folder.

I believe you are right. I re-started the entire thing and got it to work. Thanks!
However, I still am having trouble getting rid of the "PHOTO NEXUS" cube, as well as getting rid of the (||) pause symbol on the slideshow, for it is stamped over the images.

Nice! I am having a web-savvy friend come over tomorrow to make it all happen.
Thanks everyone for your help and I will post a link on here when it's finished.

You are going to have to do some studying. Just asking people how to write a web site won't get you where you want to be.
The studying you need to do is in the wordpress docs pages at wordpress.org

i.e start reading. Getting rid of the nexus photo logo is easy if you can be bothered to do the reading. If you can't be bothered to do the reading then your case is hopeless. i.e. if you can't be bothered to help yourself then no one is going to do it for you. They will however help you if you get stuck on particular technical issues. Currently you don't have a technical issue. You have a lack of basic knowledge.
Pay particular attention on how to modify templates which can be done from the wordpress admin panel. That doesn't mean take the easiest shortcut to it. It means if you bother to do all the reading you will be streets ahead and be able to tailor your site to your own needs and wants without expecting others to do it for you.

I guess you're right.

I guess you're right.

I guess you're right.

However, my friend will probably be able to do a lot of this for me... I just don't have the time to do learn all this myself. If I did, I would be all over it.
Thanks guys.

Well he did not help much as he was unfamiliar with wordpress as a platform.
I screwed around a bit more and I think it looks pretty good so far. My one remaining challenge which I am STUCK on for real is the "categories" and the line going out to the right seen on the top right of my home-page. To see what I'm talking about, go to www.stwilsonphotography.com
Any tips concerning this or any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

what does it look like on an IPAD and how's the usability on an IPAD.

edit:

Forget that. I see someone already alerted you to it in the other thread you have about your website just to confuse me.

smaller images but the thumbnails below are the real problem. Its just too big for the lowest common denominator which is 1024 x 768 screen dimension ( IPAD screen dimension and a lot of laptops). Nothing you can do about that without a complete redesign which means your nexus template would be redundant unless you can put thumbnails left or right of main image using it. Since I don't have nexus I don't know if that's easy or if you need serious html/css knowledge to do it.

p.s. you could just not worry about it but I find that many people are using widescreen laptops which have limited screen height. i.e. 768 or 800 pixel height only so its the height which is more of a problem than width. (around 50% of people for the sites I look after.)
