Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M" Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!

2012 Le Mans 24h - heading for France, a warmup

I have been on the road since a few hours, now finally arrived in Paris.

During packing Murphy's Law got into full effect and ruined a computer and my planned external backup !@#$, costing me the valuable time to check up my camera bodies before heading to the airport.

I had to to kill on the airport, so I tested both bodies with my long lens of choice this year - not my favorite motor sports lens, the 135 APO-Telyt, but the black low light monster 40 year old Canon 100 ƒ2 LTM.

The race starts in Shanghai at the airport:

airport bus:

tractor - yes, yes, it's blurry ;bb; just warming up guys 1/15sec:

racing smart 1/15sec:

airplane taxiing:

just uploading:

More to come, as I get online …

Have a great time Dirk, I'm jealous! Make sure you get some shots of the "Delta Wing" while it's running. Truly a new take on a closed course car which is being allowed to run for demonstration purposes.

Being the racing nut I am I must hit LeMans one year!

Enjoy... I look forward to your images as always.

Excellent, I'm envious too.

Definitely would like to see some of the Nissan DeltaWing (not just because I'm a big Dan Gurney fan.)

No telyt!?! I always look forward to seeing the images you get from that lens--mine's on order so I won't be as dependent on you for images anymore, but still...

Enjoy the best moto sport race in the world!
