If there is a sharper 85, I'd like to see it.

it has the same look as my summicron 50 v4--and I think its sharper!

Mine weighs 488 grams.

As noted above the 100/2 is excellent and has similar character, but I don't think it is quite as sharp. Very sharp nonetheless.

I'd say it the other way - that the aperture ring rotates with the focusing barrel -- but, yes. Same as the Canon 100/2, Nikkor 85/2 and Nikkor 105/2.5.

Here are a few on my R-D1 (conversions in Epson PhotoRAW). I'm liking the lens so far. I need to do some controlled tests of focus accuracy, though -- I suspect some adjustment might be needed.

The lens definitely needs a hood in bright sunlight!

Hi,
just posted here:
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/foru...5&postcount=16

as I am looking for a Canon LTM 85 1.8 for parts (with a good rear element) to fix a promising lens I tested recently.

Hey Jean-Marc, see my answer about adjusting the lens in this thread: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/foru...d.php?t=109041

Your copy looks good regarding what you can do with the lens ;-) … damaged or not.
I hope, to see more photographs with this lens from you - really motivates me, to dig mine out and use it more - I love it's look for portraits.
