Best Nikon RF to Panasonic G1 Adaptor

I have a number of Nikon RF and Contax-Kiev lenses, including a 35/3.5 Nikkor and a 35/2.8 Kiev besides the norma 50mm. I am not sure which of the available adaptors can handle all these lenses when mounted on a G1 Panasonic. I am sure the subject has been often debated but I can't find any definitive info. I will appreciate any comments based on experience. Best regards,

best contax to u4/3...

I use the Amedeo adapter (one of the sponsors here) for Contax to Leica M mount- and then use an M-to-4/3 adapter on that. His adapters are first-rate and super accurate and he is a great guy too. He makes Contax/Nikon to 4/3 adapters as well.

All my lenses used with this adapter have been the internal mount variety (50mm's), so I cannot speak to the utility of the external mount. I would suggest contacting Amedeo and seeing what he has to say about your lenses and compatibility. You will not be let down by the quality of his work.

Good luck,

Matt

Since the camera uses through-the-lens focusing, and the focusing helical is in the lens, external mount lenses should work on any adapter that supports internal mount lenses.

Thanks to you all for your feedback. As I learned Amedeo's product, and others, provide the mount and the focusing to most lenses in the Contax/Kiev/Nikon. Lens registration is not critical since focusing is actually visible and displayed on the screen. The problems are not related to the adaptor but to the camera(s) and the Panasonic G1 has so little room under the lens flange that only the 50mm normal and tele-photo lenses can be mounted . I understand now why most adaptors are advertised as working with the Sony models. I assume these cameras have enough clearance to fit the wide angle lenses. So, now I am in search for a camera with the least cluttered shutter housing!
Again, thanks to all.

I believe GXR M mount module actually fits Jupiter 12 with the large rear element.

I have also seen someone who succeeded in using it on RD-1 but not sure how.
