Yes, especially since I'm Leica-less for the first time in years.

Yikes, you sold the M9?
Well, you never miss your lover more than when you're apart.

@jsrockit
does the X1 beat your (old) M9 in terms of ISO performance?

Yes. I used the X1 all the way up to 3200. The M9, never past 1250.

As the sun rises this morning, I had a little extra time and found that the link referenced above is indeed up again...so I went back and the photos are truly bad photos, period.
With no experience at all, in February, I picked up a friend's X1, started shooting indoors and outdoors in the grey rain and the worst of my photos without PP was better than anything posted on the link. These are underexposed, poorly processed and dull images. The OOF area are awful. on the link....if I can pull these out of the air, then anyone can do better than the photos on the link:
The flickriver link shows you the way the X1 photos should turn out. Regardless, the link I went to this morning is obviously from a biased user of another camera and proclaims the X2 not worth the money.... too bad, it is his loss. To produce bad images and publish an article that people should not buy that particular camera is bad form.
So many reviews are like anatomical parts that most people don't like to see, much less hear.

It's longer than one week I'm away from home and only shooting with my x1. It's ok. Sometimes I shoot autofocus, sometimes manual. I always left the m7 ion the hotel safe. Did not miss it.

Maybe ! Editing will be long and difficult, as usual! A few x1 pictures are already in my blog, together with some from my wife!

I hear you about leaving the "bigger" cameras in a safe place with only the X1 with you...am doing the same thing today as I have two hours on my own for a change. A little trip to the old mill is in order and color is the choice of the day. X1 is on deck...

The main thing which I did not like in this "only x1 week" was that first day I lost the rubber ring on the viewfinder and because I wear lenses and I'm always afraid to damage them it's really disturbing. I replaced it with a spare one I had and learned ... to walk around keeping my thumb with a gentle pressure on it! Just back home, I'll edit and post some photos in my RFF gallery in the next days. Generally speaking the x1 performed great in most of situations.

Bad news... Willoughbys now says:
"This item will be available on 07/29/2012"
They were the ones who quoted the 6/06/12 date.

I did order from Dale, but Dale has no idea when they are receiving any. Not even an estimate. Up until yesterday, Amazon and Willoughbys had 6/6/12. Now, they say 7/30/12. No one else even shows a date. Leica said sometime during June. I e-mailed them for more info. Kind of a let down, but I'll get over it. I'm lucky to have other cameras to use and have to have some patience for once. It's only a camera.

Good news! Even as I sit here with a mouth stuffed with gauze following surgery this morning, your post still brought a smile to my face...

Sorry to hear about your surgery Dave. Hopefully it was minor. Dale confirmed they are shipping soon after they receive them from Leica on Friday.
