I've had my eye on its smaller sibling, the Domke F-831...

Didn't you give up on your quest for a perfect bag last week?

I like the waxwear, at least, from the photos. What is it like when you touch and feel?

From what I've seen on the net Joe this bag doesn't do it for me. It's bigger than the f-803 (which I didn't like either) and with less pockets. It's not as wide and it's deeper. Are you looking to use it for your DSLR coz I don't think it would suit an RF kit.

yes, for the dslr kit...right now it all (mostly) fits into the domke 5xc but it's tight and hard to get at the gear.

Nope, I've hauled around my F3x wax wear daily for well over year now without noticing some weird waxy buildup on my clothes. The bag has picked up some blue and black dyes from my jeans, though.
It's served me well on fire coverage working in close quarters with hydrants that don't seal too well to the hoses.
I've got an F831 on the way in wax wear as well.

Joe - if you're interested in a TT Retro 20 (Pinestone) or a Domke F2 Sand (Nikwax'ed and includes 4-compartnet insert), PM me... we can work something out.
