Low Contrast High Sharpness F-Mount 50?

Going to be heading up on a canoe trip to the middle of nowhere next month. I would to bring a nice lens for the soon to arriving F3.

I want something with good sharpness but lower contrast. Around 50mm. I know I'll have to pull some film, but is anything with that nice old school low contrast look that I could get in F-Mount? I'll probably do most of my shooting between f2.8 and f5.6.

I was originally thinking the 50/2 but that is actually supposed to be pretty good for contrast (I think). Maybe something offbrand? Any suggestions? Or would I have to go screw mount to get what I want?

the 50/2 isn't exactly a contrast bear. it's just smooth.

Too bad you don't live near me.: I've got a Series E 50/1.8 that would do the job, but mainly because it's filthy inside. I suspect any similarly ratty 50 would do for you, but the Series E lenses usually come the cheapest.
