With my M3, I normally leave the focus tab on infinity and it therefor makes longer distance shots much quicker but, if I am shooting at 10-30 feet or so, then, my average focusing time is longer. How long? Never measured it but it is probably in the 2 second range? I must check this out sometime with an assistant.
