Leica M36 to Leica M

(Whoops! I accidentally put 36 rather than 39 in the tile.)

Hi, sorry if this is a silly question (I'm still learning).

If I buy an M39-M Mount adapter, and use it to mount M39 screwmount lenses on an M mount camera. Will the lenses be coupled with the rangefinder focusing on my camera or will I have to zone focus?

Thanks for your help.

If the lens was rf coupled for screw mount then it will couple with the M rf. What lenses are you thinking of? Joe

I was thinking of mounting the Jupiter-8 50/2 with my Voigtlander Bessa R4A... Would that work with the rangefinder?

Should work well. I have several Jupiter 8's and like them very much. Quality control is sometimes a problem but if you get a good one it can work very well. Joe

it should, but it might have some focusing issues. IIRC the Russian cameras have a slightly different flange distance no?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'm gonna risk it. I found an adapter and a lens for under $100 from what seems to be a fairly reliable seller on the site that we don't speak of.
