I bought an XA a few years back, ran one roll through it and put it down. Recently I ran a couple of rolls of Tri-X through it, but haven't found the time to develop them yet. These photos are an inspiration to soup 'em! Hopefully I'll have some shots worth adding to this thread. Thanks for everyone's posts - very nice photos all around!

Took my XA to Yosemite

I recently went to Yosemite last month and I think I was the only one shooting film. Took my Olympus XA. Here's some photos taken behind the Ahwahnee Hotel. Kodak BW400CN rated at ISO 200. Precision Camera process and scan.

And one from Tunnel View:

Not bad for a 33 year old rangefinder that has never had a CLA!
Cheers,
Kent

Tried to post URLs of the images but no joy. Can anybody help me with instructions for linking to flickr?

Right above your image is a 'share' button on your page. Pick the 'BBCode' for posting on forums. Copy/paste it into the reply box here and you're done Good luck.

Maybe the true 'share' options are only available to paid accounts?

I don't think so. It should work on the freebies too.

Thanks for the instructions! All taken with the XA on Kodak BW400CN rated at ISO 200. Precision Camera RFF Special Process and scan. Images are straight scans from CD. No manipulation in PS or Lightroom, other than resizing.

Does the XA 4 count? An odd little camera with some strange vignetting tendencies, but sharp enough. I haven't tried my XA yet.

Recently picked up an XA, and it's fast becoming my favourite for the convenience. A few favourites from a recent trip to Japan:

Thanks! Not the easiest shot to do without a tripod and when you can't adjust the shutter speed, took me a couple of tries to get it right.

i purchased an XA2 on ebay earlier this week. Here are a couple of frames from the test roll. One was taken on a stroll in the neighborhood, the other was a shot my wife took of me to finish up the roll.

It performed pretty well I think. Focusing at a close distance is tricky. I had the odd overexposed frame. Maybe I was shading the light meter or something. I was worried about light leaks since the seals seemed pretty worn, but nothing major was leaking (and I exposed the thing to direct sunlight pretty well).

My first test roll dissapointed me and I simply stowed it away for several months. I decided to give it a try again, and now I'm in love with it.

I get a few hit and miss rolls, some with off focus, other with motion blur, but it's an all round great camera that very rarely leaves my pocket.

Thankyou! Sadly I had to pull apart, and subsequently broke, my XA. I didn't want to loose a roll of film with potentionally good shots, so you gotta do what you gotta do

Here's two photos from that roll of film, "throwaways" I guess, I'm saving the better ones for a project I'm working on. Horrible scan on the first, investing in a new scanner very soon!
