Shortly before a concert of John Adams' works, this man in the nearby coffeehouse was intensely conducting a silent conversation with himself. Perhaps an interior score--the gestures were conductor-like. I've seen him elsewhere in similar conversations, but he was dressed for the concert here. I love the great black hat, and the red braid harmonizing with the wall. Here are 2 of the 4 shots--it's the 45 Planar (G1) mounted on a Lumix G1 (sorry, I have no ZI, and no ZM Planar yet....)

Helen: you are becoming as fickle as Keith and Joe about falling in and out of love with lenses. At least you are somewhat true to a camera and a film.

no complaints has turned into much enthusiasm since I redid some scans myself

I guess this speaks to the need to do things yourself if you want them done right. Even though you lose so much at 1024, this rescan has loads more bite and dimensionality than I ever knew this negative contained. Technique extends beyond just taking the shot, and this is a lesson I am glad to learn.

I was looking at lens reviews a few weeks ago. I decided the last thing I need for a M8 is a lens with more contrast. I bought nothing. My son bought the 35 2.0 ASPH which I compared to my version 4. Nice lens, but not enough different to upgrade.

Here are some more Planar photos on APX100

I must say I'm in love with the Planar/APX 100 combo.

Biel, great portrait!

But, I'm surprised with that bokeh! It makes me to think in Sonnar... I love it!

Which delta did you use in this photo?

Congrats,
Xabier.

IMO the deal with the planar is it never steps out of line.

I think with both the 50 planar and the 50 summicron, pictures just look the way they are supposed to.

From the examples people have thrown up, the Planar seems razor sharp.
