Looks like we will get all types of weather over the weekend...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/745044

At least it will be hot.

Also, updated the first post in the thread with travel information and film shops from posts by semrich and smbilgin in this thread.

Last weekend it was hot and sun was shining, yesterday there was heavy rain and it was very cold and windy. Istanbul's weather is unpredictable especially in this season. Be ready for every whether condition.

BTW, whether forecasting is not reliable in this season. Also whether can change during the day time.

One of the first saying I was introduced to in Istanbul was this:

The weather (in Istanbul) is like women:
moody.

He might have said "unpredictible". In any case, the guy telling me this while we were sitting on a bench halfway up the Bosphorus got smacked pretty good by his lady friend.

Sun is shining into my living room... There's hope.

Maybe for tommorow, today I dont believe it after those heavy clouds I've seen on the horizon in Fatih.

Good work all! If all goes well I'll be around on friday afternoon/evening too.

For my monday and tuesday nights (flying back on wednesday), the fabulous shared penthouse will no longer be available so I was planning to find a hostel (or similar) in an area which seems most interesting over the weekend. Do our local RFF colleagues think Istanbul still has few enough tourists for a couple of nights at short notice to be possible, or will everywhere already be booked?!

Now, what to bring with me . . .

Our local RFFers will tip a beer in your honor at our Beer & Gear near San Francisco Friday night. Have a great weekend everyone, look forward to seeing some of the pictures you guys produce!

PS- drunken bar shots preferred

Martin, it's not high season yet, so most of the hotels, hostels are still available without any reservation. You just come, the rest is to be handled here.

It is not locked. If you have a flickr account, you can see the pool. All you need is to sign in.

I'm signed in and it says: "There's nothing visible to you in the RFF Euro Meet 2012 - Istanbul pool."

You should add yourself to the group. You do not need permission or so for it. I did the same and it worked like a charm.

Hi guys,

now I am back in Germany again. It was a really nice trip for me.
I'll keep Istanbul in mind and it wasn't my last time in this great city.
Many thanks to kully and the residents for the organisation and guided tours.

cheers

Simon

1296!!! I've got around 2-300...and I can't think why as Istanbul is a photographic paradise. Still, I don't envy you having to edit them all Miguel

I'd also like to thank Taylan, Mustafa, Richard and all the Istanbul RFF'ers for their welcome, help and hospitality over the time we've spent there. Its was a great (long) weekend and like many of the other guys I spoke to, I'll be going back.

Hope you all get home safely and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's pictures.

To all, it was a fabulous time, I enjoyed the chance to meet and put faces to user names and associated photos I've seen posted over the years.
Happy to know that despite the rain on Saturday everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, and maybe even got some super rain shots.
I shot 8 rolls and 4 are already hanging to dry.

Thanks be to Kully and my hosts! I think everyone had an excellent time. I only shot around 23 rolls which I must have done whilst sleep-walking. (I even still have a few rolls from London last year!)
