no such trickery was employed!

It was so incredibly windy it would have blown over. 50Km gusts today.

Details? It was really freaking bright out. f7 to 16 and shutter probably never went slower than 400. I could have danced a jig while shooting and they would still be sharp.

I have two kids, I work too much, have several other hobbies, and I'm generally lazy. So when I see nice light I jump in the car for a drive and go shoot stuff. When you live where I do, this is 'street'.

I actually do what I think of as 'shake bracketing' I'll shoot the same frame three times and pick the best one. It's especially helpful in the wind. Sometimes the grass blows into a blur, or a power line turns into a streak. Of course, only works on composed shots but worth thinking about.

Ok, you qualify for the busted up old guy secret:
Sharpening sauce! I put that sh*t on everything.

Seriously though, I sharpen a lot in Lightroom. What you see is what I like so that's how I process. It is not at all 'honest' to what I saw when I pushed the shutter. I'm after a certain look. I wait for light that has that look and I cook the pixels to make it a certain way.

i use a light touch when it comes to the unsharp mask...

i think we all go for a certain look, i know i do...yours seems to work well for you.

These are VERY nice! From a composition standpoint, I like the farm house and barn pictures the best (#1 and #3). The lens on that little camera is amazing. Did you do b&W in-camera or with post processing? If post-processing, what software did you use?
