Anyone know of a good small monopod?

Hello all,

I'm looking for a monopod that collapses down to 12 inches or less, so it will fit neatly in my bag. While I don't want anything super flimsy (obviously), small size trumps supreme sturdiness in this instance. Anyone have a recommendation for a monopod that will fit the bill? I'm average height, and I don't mind ducking down a few inches, so it doesn't have to be super tall when extended, either. Thanks!

Gitzo GM2561T comes close at 13.5" and is a reasonable compromise as long as you don't full extend the smallest section.
With a 1781 head it's 15.5" - just small enough to fit in a medium messenger bag.
Most of the time though, the Leica table tripod is more useful - and more bag friendly.

This one will be too long at 21 1/2 inches folded but for anyone looking for a good under $20.00 monopod get a Targus TG-MP6710. I'm 6' 1" & I can't extend it fully, too high. Lightweight & not flimsy at all. I use mine when I'm out railfanning. Bought it at WalMart.
