New (to me) Fujica Mini... needs some help.

I just picked up this Fujica Mini from ePay. It's battered but it appears to be working perfectly, including the meter. Unfortunately the built in UV filter is a wreck. Does anyone have any idea how to remove the thing? I was thinking about trying to cannibalize another filter to replace it, or possibly just leaving it off entirely.

The first picture on this page seems to show that it unscrews: http://translate.google.ca/translate...26prmd%3Dimvns

Thanks for the link! I don't know that I would have ever found that.

I thought that might be how the filter went on but mine doesn't seem to want to budge. I'll see what I can come up with.

It did indeed unscrew but I had to wrap a rubber band around it and give it some nerve-wracking extra effort. It appears to be 39mm for anyone in a similar predicament that ends up searching this post. Hopefully I can find a nice donor UV the same size at the camera swap meet in a couple weeks.

I finally got some shots from this little guy scanned. The lens isn't quite up to Olympus Pen standards and the frame is slightly cockeyed on the film making scanning a little tricky but in general, the results exceeded my expectations. My exposures using the built in light meter (on a rather grey southern California afternoon) were all pretty much spot on. I paid a total of $40 for this one... so not exactly a bargain, but they're rare enough and cool enough (or adorable as my wife put it) that I'm pretty happy having added it to my modest collection of "halfers."
