35 SP Case and Cap

Dear All,

I am new to this community and this is my first post here. Some days back I got a Olympus 35 sp from ebay, but lens cap and case were missing.
I was wondering if anyone can guide me towards getting these.

I am excited to delve into film photography although I have been using Canon DSLRs from last 4 years.

Thanks.

Regards,
Ravi

Welcome.

That's not unusual. When I've bought an SP I have got a cap, sometimes not.

Enjoy the SP -- it is a great camera.

You can use the standard snap on lens cap supplied with the OM Zuiko 50mm lens.

The SP is really nice to use. Have fun!

My 35-SP came with the complete case but no lens cap...I found a Pentax lens cap somewhere in my closet and then later bought an Olympus hood at a pawn shop...
It works...
I've only had a few rolls through my SP but I like it so far...
Have fun using yours...
If you have a battery in yours, the camera case is your "On-Off" switch...keep an eye on *bay for a case...

The SP came with three different types of caps. The most common is a 51mm slip-on cap which says Olympus on the front. Another version says Olympus Tokyo, the last is a 49mm snap-in cap similar to the caps that fit most Olympus OM lenses, but is all black with a serrated edge. The same cap was used on the uncommon M series lenses. The regular OM series 49mm cap is easy to find, and is cheap.

Cases are not so easy to find. Here in Japan they sell for about $5, but they don't come up that often.

Thanks a lot everyone for useful info. I will get a 49mm snap-in cap which seems to be easily available on ebay.

I think I actually have a case laying around somewhere. It was from one of my SPs I had previously. I recall it coming apart a bit, but if I can find it, you can have it for the shipping cost to send it to you . I imagine a little bit of glue would hold the bottom bit back in place (otherwise it was in pretty good shape I recall)

Dear agphotography,

If you can find it, it will be awesome. Please let me know and I will transfer the shipping cost to you.

Thanks a lot.
