I found a brand new Fed 50 at the swap meet a few weeks back. I paid $15 for it which seemed excellent considering most sell for a little more and have to be shipped from somewhere in the FSU. It was quite an easy thing to shoot with—I just left the focus at about 1.5 meters and let the camera do the rest. The only real drawbacks are the included hood blocks a portion of the viewfinder and it seems to leak some light from time to time. Here's a few of my favorites...

Well, it's thanks to your blog that I took an interest in the little Rollei 35. There are a lot of pictures on your blog that are sublime and very thoughtful. I had thought about getting a little compact 35mm for a while and you helped me zero in on the Rollei. I saw one for sale at my local shop and I thought, why not? It really is very small. Its the same model as yours in fact. Singapore made chrome tessar model. I just received a little collapsable rubber hood (heliopan) and I'm ready to go. Maybe I'll get a couple b&w filters for it some day but for now I just want to shoot it and learn its habits.
I'm not getting rid of the Leica, but I wanted a camera that could always be with me, and something that could shoot 35mm film with a high quality lens on the front.

From my new (old) Olympus Trip 35... $16 at shopgoodwill. Something about the feel of Oly's from the 60's really appeals to me. My Pen FT is my favorite camera and this wouldn't be far behind.

wonderful and funny! For some reason, I want to hang this sequence in my guest bathroom -- with the final shot looking right at the commode.
