The thing that surprised me the most was the weight. It's very light. I'm really biased here so I find it feels cheap but I'm sure it's sturdy. The lens feels quite plastic but it's nice and sharp. The vf has almost a matte tone to it so I found that to be nicer manual focusing. I don't think I'd ever use the camera in mf though. The af is faster than the x100's but it still isn't all that fast. Hope to get another chance to try it soon.
In the meantime get the black limited edition x100!

So is the MF bad only for the focus by wire AF lens? Or is it also going to be bad for M lens too due to the lack of focus aid?

WTF? April and only 10 cameras for Canada? One of the local store here had 25 orders several weeks ago. *sigh*

A body from magnesium alloy is solid.
The weight reduction over the M8/M9 is highly welcome for me.
Nothing beats the feel of M mount lenses. The advantage comes in terms of weight: the weights of the Fuji lenses, however, make a lot of M lenses look heavy.

...that's ridiculous. Fuji shouldn't even be claiming the release date that they are if amounts like that is all they'll have to go around. better to just push back the release date and have more to release at once imho.

Already out in Tokyo today. I went to Yodobashi to check it out. It's a good camera. The EVF is really something. But what really worries me is the slow AF.

I'm not surprised to be honest. Build anticipation, test everyone's patience, that way the "obvious flaws" are overlooked once it is fully released.
Cheers,
Dave

I wonder, will the slow AF matter to those folks who want to use M lenses on the camera? If manual focus is not impeded - and by that I mean, manual focus with M lenses - then will that matter to people who only want to use this as a replacement to the M8/M9?
Cheers,
Dave

That's my question as well. I'd like a range finder style camera that performs better than my M8 at higher ISO ratings. If the manual focus works for my M mount lenses the X1 Pro might be for me.

Just think: by the time it's available in Canada, Lightroom will be updated to handle the X-1Pro RAW files!
And, it might even be LR4, which is like getting a camera upgrade (check out the 2012 process version in the Develop module).

Was the manual focus way more responsive?

Apparently it's very similar to the x100, and the focusing speed changes depending on the lens mounted. I read a thread which the buyer didn't buy the 60mm because the AF was too slow, and apparently 18mm is not out in Japan yet.
